Turnout by 10am 9,9 percent

A total of 9,9 percent of citizens voted in elections for the Belgrade City Assembly by 10:00 (margin of error 0,2 percent). In comparison, voter turnout by 10:00 in Belgrade elections in December was 9,6 percent. A total of 1.602.150 citizens registered in the Voter Registry have the right to vote in Belgrade elections. All polling stations in Belgrade were opened on time. Delays were recorded at four percent of polling stations. Belgrade Elections 2024 – Second Interim Report Of Long Term Election Observation – Summary

In the second half of the campaign for the Belgrade City Assembly elections, there has been an increase in campaign activities, as well as a trend of local policy issues being overshadowed by national topics promoted by top government officials. Part of the public had hoped that the inter-party dialogue aimed at improving election conditions, which was happening alongside the campaign, would enhance the quality of the election environment for Belgrade’s elections, but these expectations were unmet.

The conclusion of the campaign for the Belgrade elections is marked by chronic electoral issues – blurring the line between state and party, increased voter pressure, more unscrupulous manipulation of vulnerable population groups, and misuse of public resources for party promotion.
