CRTA proposed a draft Rulebook on electronic media obligations during the election campaign

Since the Rulebook on electronic media obligations during the election campaign was repealed in February 2019, and drafting of a new one did not begin eight months later, CRTA prepared and offered a draft of the new document. CRTA prepared  the draft Rulebook  on the basis of the findings of monitoring previous election cycles and its recommendations in the field of media and the equal media representation of all actors in the election process.

CRTA presented its recommendations for better election conditions, achievable until the 2020 parliamentary and local elections, in March 2019, together with the  roadmap for ensuring equal representation of all actors in the election process. In August 2019, CRTA presented more detailed  recommendations and measures  for the implementation, as well as for amendments of the current regulatory framework. CRTA put forward recommendations for the media to participants to the round table coming from ruling and opposition parties that took place in August and in September at the Faculty of Organisational Sciences.

CRTA urges all competent institutions, primarily the Regulatory Authority of Electronic Media to commence a process of public consultations in view of the preparation of the new Rulebook that needs to be adopted at the earliest before the upcoming elections.
