Voter turnout by 2pm 27 percent, another complaint to the police for the case of the “Carousel Voting”

A total of 27 percent of voters have voted until 2pm, out of 6.584.376 registered to vote at the parliamentary elections at 8.433 polling stations. Margin of error was +/- 0,7 percent.

Members of the polling boards have been using the protective sanitary kits (masks, gloves…) at 71 percent of polling stations consistently, and at the 25 percent sporadically. The use of protection masks by voters was recorded at 53 percent of polling stations consistently, and at 44 percent sporadically.

Percentage of polling boards with recorded serious election irregularities remains similar to the one at 10am, i.e. 4,6 percent. These include cases where identity of voters was not checked, UV lamps were not consistently used and parallel lists of voters were used.

Cases where procedures for voting outside of polling stations were not fully followed were identified as well.

Due to the extended deadline for registration for voting outside of polling stations, and expected higher number of voters who will vote in this manner as a consequence of the coronavirus pandemic, CRTA’s specially trained teams will for the first time monitor the voting process outside of polling stations as well.

Besides the identified case of “carousel voting” in Zrenjanin, CRTA recorded another such case at the polling station 25 in Pozarevac. This case was also reported to the police.

The next media conference of the CRTA’s election observation mission is scheduled for 5:50pm. You may follow the conference live at the CRTA’s website or Facebook page
