CRTA\u2019s election observation mission finalized the recruitment and training of more than 1.700 observers who will be deployed <\/strong>at the random representative sample of 500 polling stations on the Election Day on June 21. Observation of the election process at this sample will enable CRTA to report on election developments, as well as compliance with the law and electoral procedures at all polling stations in Serbia.<\/p>\n

Trained to the highest international standards, observers will monitor and report on the quality of the election process at all polling stations, and on developments and atmosphere outside of the polling stations.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Considering that the deadline for registration of voters to vote outside of polling stations has been extended due to the corona virus pandemic, and related expectation that a larger number of voters would use their right to vote in this manner, specially trained teams of the CRTA\u2019s mission will observe voting process outside of polling stations for the first time.<\/strong> CRTA\u2019s legal team will monitor the work of the Republic Electoral Commission as well.<\/p>\n

Observers will be deployed at polling stations from the preparation and oppening of polling stations until the announcement of election results by polling boards at the observed polling stations, which will provide a comprehensive insight into developments at polling stations throughout the election day.<\/p>\n

All CRTA\u2019s observers to be deployed to the polling stations on June 21 were trained to the highest international standards through a comprehensive training process, followed by several cycles of testing and election day simulations. Observers have also signed a Code of Conduct<\/a>, required for joining the CRTA\u2019s observation mission in order to ensure the respect for the principles of professionalism, independence, impartiality, accuracy and objectivity, and providing the conclusions based on well documented and verified facts only.<\/p>\n

During the election day, CRTA\u2019s election observation mission will periodically inform the public about the voting process, as well as about the voters\u2019 turnout through hours. Throughout the day, besides conferences to present information about developments at the polling stations (9.30 am, 11.30 am, 2.30 pm, 5.30 pm, 8.30 pm and around 10 pm), citizens will be able to follow the flow of information arriving from polling stations and the call center\u2019s operations in providing support to observers, through CRTA\u2019s website<\/a> , YouTube channel<\/a> and Facebook page<\/a>.<\/p>\n

CRTA is a member of the European Network of Election Monitoring Organizations\u00a0 (ENEMO)<\/a> and the Global Network of Domestic Election Monitors (GNDEM)<\/a>. In the capacity of a domestic election observation mission, CRTA monitored the entire election process in the 2016 parliamentary elections, 2017 presidential elections and 2018 Belgrade elections by the highest international standards, thus contributing to higher transparency of these elections. Findings and recommendations of the CRTA\u2019s observation mission corresponded to the findings and recommendations of the OSCE\/ODIHR international observation mission.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
